Chemical peel, sounds scary doesn’t it? Well we at DHA aesthetics can assure you it’s not! Let’s start with the fancy pants science bit???

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve many skin conditions with the application of various types and strengths of acid,  from fruit acid ( mild peel ) eg tartaric acid found in grapes, to TCA trichloroacetic acid ( strong/deep peel) The chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin resulting in a wound healing process which regenerates new tissue.

A mini history lesson for you, as far back as records indicate chemical peels were used by ancient Egyptians they mixed animal oils , salt , alabaster and sour milk ( contains lactic acid ) to improve texture of skin!
